Timely, dedicated, efficient, and creative employees are essential to prosperous organizations. On-the-job experiences are ideal to ensuring that youth gain professional skills and work-related competencies.

Hosting a student, intern, or apprentice can help build your organization’s future workforce and provide students the workforce skills and knowledge needed to make informed decisions about their future.

Aiken Works opportunities:

  • Job Shadowing & Structured Field Study
  • Internships
  • Apprenticeships
  • Cooperative Education

As an extra incentive, businesses will receive a $1,000 tax credit for each registered apprentice.

You can also take initiative by financially supporting the community effort to ensure Aiken County’s students are well-prepared for future workforce needs.

REACHING YOUTH

It’s imperative that young people know how valuable they are to our community. We’ve created the “be relevant” campaign to engage them.

By going out into the youth community and providing an approachable environment, we are able to give them the tools they need to benefit from the AIKEN WORKS program.

AIKEN WORKS is aimed to make young people feel a vital part of our future business community by putting them in meaningful, hands-on positions. Attaining the skills and work-based competencies to excel in a specific trade or industry fosters a sense of belonging and confidence.
